Well done to our Maura Murphy who represented ICPO at the NIPC webinar which took place on #WorldObesityDay
It was mentioned that somebody was suprised to see Maura take part as she has officially retired from her role as secretary of ICPO.
Retiring from this role is a step back from the daily commitment of attending meetings, taking minutes, making numerous phone calls and chasing up on tasks.
We are grateful that Maura is still happy to join and share her own experiences on certain stigma education training sessions, webinars or talks just like this NIPC event.
Mauras experience and wealth of knowledge is needed at these type events and while she will not be advocating on a daily basis, we are delighted she will still be involved on occasions.
It is great to hear of such a big turnout of over 250 people to learn from all the experts on the night. We hope after hearing the discussions that this knowledge and awareness raised will continue to be shared in the circles that each person works or lives in.
Carry that forward and continue in #AddressingObesityTogether
We each can play such a big part in creating change.
