It is widely assumed that people living with obesity are not physically active at all. That they predominantly sit at home and don’t interact much in society. Our image bank shows examples of our ICPO members living their best lives regardless of the various barriers they face daily. A disease does not define a person. People in larger bodies have hobbies, successful careers, active lives just like everyone else. Stigmatising images showing people inactive or even lazy, only feeds the stereo type and stigma that society shows towards people living with obesity. We encourage the media to use our positive images showing people living with obesity just as they are.
